DTP

Dynamic Trunking Protocol is a Cisco proprietary protocol that negotiates trunking between switchports. DTP messages are exchanged between switches indicating a willingness (or lack of) to create a trunk.

auto Set trunking mode dynamic negotiation parameter to AUTO

desirable Set trunking mode dynamic negotiation parameter to DESIRABLE

dsw1(config-if)#switchport mode trunk

Device will not engage in negotiation protocol on this interface
